Chelation
therapy is performed worldwide and is gaining popularity in America. Currently
hundreds of physicians in the U.S. offer the procedure in their offices.
1. What is Chelation Therapy?
Chelation therapy is a series of IV treatments using a solution of minerals,
vitamins and a special amino acid, EDTA. The latter is approved by the
FDA for lead poisoning. Chelation therapy is a safe, non-surgical, adjunctive
treatment given in a doctor's office. 500,000 to 700,000 satisfied patients
have received millions of treatments. They are the biggest fans of chelation
therapy.
2. Who are Chelation Therapy Patients?
At Primary Prevention the majority of patients receiving chelation
therapy are those suffering from heart disease, stroke and poor circulation.
They may have already received the maximum benefit from medicine and surgery
and been told they would have to live with their conditions. Thanks to
chelation therapy that does not have to be the case.
3.
What is EDTA?
EDTA is an acronym for the amino acid, ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid.
The IV solution of EDTA removes toxic heavy metals such as lead, mercury
and arsenic from the body. It also removes excess iron, which has recently
been shown to be a risk factor in hardening of the arteries.
4. What is Chelation Therapy used for?
It is approved since the 1950's for heavy metal poisoning, digitalis poisoning
and hypercalcemia, which is too much calcium circulating in the blood.
For the past 40 years patients have been receiving chelation as adjunctive
treatment for symptoms of hardening of the arteries and conditions resulting
from poor circulation. These problems may include angina, high blood pressure,
pain on walking, decreased memory, decreased energy and stamina.
5. Who might benefit from Chelation Therapy?
Almost anyone over age 40. It is increasingly being used for prevention
by people who are still healthy. Many people with the chronic diseases
of aging, such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, blocked arteries,
stroke and memory loss are the main beneficiaries. Many of our patients
have already had the maximum benefit from medicine and surgery and have
been told they have to live with their problem. They're very pleased when
they find out that may not be true.
6. Has Chelation Therapy been successful?
Chelation therapy isn't a "cure-all," but the vast majority of patients
have done very well. Dr. Bob Nash can point to a number of success stories
in his years of using chelation therapy. The patients are adamant that
chelation therapy has improved their health and improved their lives.
They state many of their symptoms have disappeared. Symptoms such as chest
pain, pain on walking, poor memory, arthritis pain and even breathing
difficulties have improved. Some of Dr. Nash's patients have even been
able to avoid surgery.
According to Dr. Nash, "I was skeptical when I first studied it.
In my 25 years of practicing medicine, I have never seen anything like
it. Many of our patients have regained strength and vitality that they
had thought was lost forever."
*We feel that a true indication of success is that
many of our new patients have been referred by satisfied patients. It
is very common for a husband or wife or other family member to begin chelation
after seeing the improvements in a relative.
